If one is born and raised in India in the cities.

Then the western way of growing makes the mind very western and the lure of going to the west always remains strong due to western culture exoticity portrayed in the east .

so after being in india for 26 years , the lure of going back to india will definitely remain.

but now i have been in the west for 4 years , but i believe after 4 or 5 years . I will go back to India for sure.

this movie is all about desires.

if you have a desire in life and if your willing to satisfy that desire , then only you will glow like fire.

this movie is not about indian traditions or homosexuality

its a movie which tries to explain that if you dont fullfill your desires , then you will become ugly.

It also talks about freedom. The characters Servant, Shabana Azmi , Husband and Javed Jaffrey are all stuck with there inner mind wanting something else , but they are trapped in doing something completely different from there Mindset. Therefore all of this people had ugly look to them.

But then nandita das is a person which is a free and full of desires and converts shabana also to a person a full of love and blissfulness.

So if you fullfill all your desires then only you can realise your self and will be filled with so much joy and love. ( In the end both Nandita and Shabana can be seen feeling this.)
